Pablo Picasso, barechested, with red flower tucked behind his ear; alone, Vallauris, France, 1949
Oh darling, we’ll be adventurers. I’m a slave to your smile. your the hitchhiker and I’m the driver willing to go all the way to the destination with you. we’ll take the back roads. when you look at that sunset I’ll be looking at you like your magic. we’ll travel mad like Kerouac. drink like Hemingway. curse the world like Bukowski. we’ll be champions of the road, moving any little bit of light towards us. I’ll love you. I love you. I love you.
-to my future wife
And our adventure will begin here.
“You will be a part of me, and I will be a part of you.”
자꾸만 네가 떠올라, Sinking of you, Daehyun Kim, 2010
The Korean title translates into “i keep thinking of you,” but it literally means “you keep floating up”
and then the English title is “Sinking of you”
so when you think of another person, that mentally woven image will float up to the surface beyond your reach
well this is saddening
